Roland U-20 display kit installation

1) You’re going to have to take a good part of the U20 apart; 90s synths aren’t the easiest to maintain !

2) Locate the original screen; you need to reach this stage.

3) Remove the original aluminum screen mount. The new screens do not have the same dimensions, so the 3D-printed mount allows for precise adjustment.

4) Detach the glass from the original display. The best method is not to use tools, but to apply successive pressure to it until it comes loose.

5) Position the new screen with its bracket where the original screen was located, and reuse the 4 screws.

6) Plug in the connector in place of the old one.

7) Replace the original glass from the outside. Use a little glue if necessary.

8) You may need to adjust the contrast setting :

EDIT >> SETUP >> LCD

10) Go back up.
